Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities Conduct precise mechanical inspections on machined parts and incoming materials to ensure full compliance with technical specifications. Perform first-off inspections at manufacturing work centers to identify and resolve potential quality issues early in the production cycle. Generate comprehensive data for First Article Inspection (FAI) and Final Inspection Reports (FIRs) to maintain accurate quality documentation. Interpret complex customer drawings and process travelers to ensure all manufacturing steps align with design requirements. Utilize calibrated measurement tools to validate dimensional accuracy and geometric conformance. Maintain a high standard of visual inspection to detect surface defects and ensure overall product quality. Required Skills Fundamental understanding of blueprint reading and shop math, including trigonometry. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and gauge blocks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to document inspection results accurately. Experience performing in-process and final quality checks in a manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environment. Preferred Skills Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards. Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation.
