Responsibilities The Physical Therapist – Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments, providing flexibility to work in various settings. Assess, develop, and deliver physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Identify needs and make referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive patient needs. Implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, aiming to diminish or correct pathology. Direct activities to promote and maintain health. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required by state licensure and professional standards. Deliver rehab services efficiently, adhering to established plans of care, department and patient schedules, and timely documentation. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies. Consult with team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimens based on patient needs and capabilities. Adapt programs and plans of care according to individual patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Clean, maintain, identify, and report equipment repairs. Provide patient‑first service, ensuring highest quality care in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and appropriate tests and measures, to establish diagnosis, identify impairments, predict improvement, and design plans of care. Develop treatment goals and methods collaboratively with patients and caregivers, implement the plan, and complete all related documentation. Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify/advance treatment plans. Perform other related duties as required. Services include but are not limited to: Therapeutic exercise: aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training. Functional training. Manual therapy. Airway clearance techniques. Integumentary repair and protection. Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities. Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices; train patients to use adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics. Select appropriate activities suited to the individual's physical, mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests. Instruct patients in skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities; evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior. Perform routine reexamination as needed/required to modify/progress treatment plans. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility. Master's degree in Physical Therapy, or Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field plus Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus five years of progressively responsible PT experience. Availability to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home. Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated as the U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy. Posted Salary Range: USD $55.00 – $70.00 /Hr. #J-18808-Ljbffr
