Field Service Engineer I (Semiconductor)

Remote

Field service engineer position supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of electron microscopy equipment for semiconductor and materials analysis applications. Role involves on-site customer support, troubleshooting complex systems, and travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Install sophisticated electron microscopy equipment on-site and execute testing procedures for operational verification
  • Perform scheduled maintenance visits and diagnose equipment failures for customers
  • Travel on short notice to customer sites to resolve technical issues and support field personnel
  • Train customers and system users on equipment maintenance and operation
  • Complete field service reports and provide feedback to product quality teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field
  • 4+ years hands-on experience installing and repairing SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar analysis systems
  • Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics; familiarity with UHV technology
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills; professional English proficiency
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain passport for regional/international travel
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk minimum 10,000 steps daily
