Job Title Bridge Maintenance Crew Liaison (Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent) Salary $7,306.00 – $9,068.00 per month (New‑to‑state candidates hired at minimum salary) Location 4338 Dudley Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95652 (Headquarters) Job Type Permanent, Full‑time; Telework: Hybrid (subject to policy) Responsibilities Provide statewide training and technical support for bridge and structural maintenance operations. Coordinate and deliver hands‑on instruction and classroom training for new and existing staff. Conduct regular field performance reviews. Support Bridge Crew Supervisors and SM&I engineers with guidance on crew capabilities, work recommendations, and data‑driven decision‑making. Ensure safe and effective execution of work by leading specialized safety training for high‑risk environments and directing crew coordination, logistics, and communication during emergency structural events. Minimum Requirements Eligibility requires completion of the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent exam and inclusion on the state examination list for new‑to‑state candidates. Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Working Conditions Requires periodic travel to field sites and emergency response locations. Telework may be available at the discretion of the department; in‑person attendance may be required by operational needs. Employees are expected to report to worksites on short notice if required.
