The role focuses on photonic integrated circuits, electromagnetic simulation, foundry layout and optical parameter extraction. This PREP research associate position supports collaborative postdoctoral research with NIST on photonic integrated circuits. The researcher will develop optimized photonic test structures for silicon-on-insulator, silicon nitride and thin-film lithium-niobate platforms. Responsibilities include literature review, electromagnetic simulation, test-structure optimization, photonic layout, fabrication and measurement collaboration, and presentation of results to internal and external stakeholders.
