Registered Nurse - PEP - Full Time - Nights

Overview Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Emergency Program (PEP). PEP is a 6-bed emergency behavioral crisis unit located within the ED. Elliot Behavioral Health Services is staffed by a team of mental health professionals who tailor evaluation and treatment services to each patient. The unit provides equipment and patient acuity options based on nurse certifications and experience. Responsibilities Deliver care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders in the PEP setting. Provide de-escalation and crisis management under supervision of providers. Create a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families. Option to cross-train on Pathways. Involve patient and family in goal setting and planning; communicate plans of care to patient, family, and colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings. Utilize current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and identify areas for improvement. Demonstrate competent clinical practice using clinical decision making and critical thinking skills. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN – BSN preferred). Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment; ACLS preferred. Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS. Schedule & Benefits Work Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am - Nights - Every Other Weekend.
