We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team in Parsippany, New Jersey. This role offers the opportunity to manage medical malpractice and other civil litigation matters from discovery through motion practice and court appearances, work directly with clients, and develop practical courtroom and case management experience. Candidates with a strong foundation in civil litigation and a willingness to learn will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission.
• Review and analyze discovery materials and prepare for and conduct depositions.
• Attend case management conferences, status conferences, court appearances, and other proceedings.
• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, memoranda of law, and other litigation submissions.
• Research complex legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Argue motions and appear in court as appropriate.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case updates, relevant information, questions, and litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with partners, colleagues, experts, and other litigation professionals to evaluate claims and prepare cases.
• Review medical records, analyze factual and legal issues, and identify defenses and potential areas of liability.
• Monitor deadlines and manage multiple matters while ensuring litigation tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New Jersey and membership in good standing.
• Two to four years of law firm experience.
• Experience with civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, legal research, and drafting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a litigation environment.
• Professional judgment, initiative, and a commitment to high-quality legal work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical malpractice, dental malpractice, or other professional liability litigation.
