Social Media Marketing Specialist

Job Title: Social Media Specialist / Community Manager Contract Type: W2, until end of year 12/31/26 (Potential to Extend) Location: New York – Hybrid or Remote (EST hours) Hours: 30 hours/week Pay: $30-33/hour About the Role We are seeking a sharp, proactive Social Media Specialist / Community Manager to cultivate a healthy and engaged presence across our social platforms, with a primary focus on TikTok and Instagram. In this role, you will lead our moderation efforts, act as a key liaison between our community and the Customer Care and Product teams, and help elevate the voice of our users. This role reports to the Senior Social Media Manager. Key Responsibilities Proactive Engagement: Propose daily brand-aligned engagement opportunities and identify emerging content themes within comment sections. Moderation & Safety: Monitor daily content, engage with key comments, and enforce community guidelines while refining hidden word filters. User-Generated Content (UGC): Source and curate relevant weather-related videos for use across our social channels. Issue Escalation: Efficiently elevate customer support inquiries to Customer Care and relay technical feedback or feature requests to the Product team. Qualifications 2+ years of professional experience in Community Management and Social Media. Comprehensive understanding of social media strategy, particularly for Tiktok, Instagram, Threads, X and Facebook Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt to a specific brand voice. Excellent command of English with a strong focus on writing and grammar. Trend-obsessed; stay up-to-date with current trends, and know how to communicate them effectively and in a timely manner. An interest in weather, meteorology, or science focused content The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $30.00 to $33.00/hr.
