Substitute Bus Driver

Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to fill the position of Substitute Bus Driver at our Bus Garage/Transportation facility. This is a part-time job that requires flexibility and availability to work on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes or trips as a substitute driver
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safe operation
- Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents as needed
- Follow all district policies and procedures related to student transportation
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the Transportation Supervisor immediately
- Attend required training sessions and meetings as directed by the Transportation Supervisor
- Maintain proper license and endorsements and pass DTO physical and random drug testing per DOT regulations

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CDL Class B with P and S endorsements preferred, but not required. We will pay for your training and assist you with getting your CDL.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
