Part-Time Dietitian

Role: Provides comprehensive nutrition services for inpatient and outpatient populations, including assessments, individualized meal planning, and education on diabetes self-management. Responsibilities: Conducts nutrition assessments, develops personalized meal plans, delivers nutrition education, and trains patients and families in diabetes management. Documents assessments, education plans, and patient progress. Provides group instruction and generates reports for healthcare providers. Develops educational materials, participates in performance improvement, and promotes diabetes awareness in the community. Qualifications & Skills: Current dietitian registration and Alabama license, with preferred experience of two years. Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or eligibility to obtain it, including passing the CDCES exam. Good communication, teaching, computer, and documentation skills. Basic life support certification required. Membership in professional organizations encouraged. Key Duties: Engage in patient education, document and report patient progress, collaborate with the healthcare team, and adhere to safety and organizational standards.
