Histotechnician (Days 6a-12p) $4,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Receive, accession, process, embed, cut, stain, mount and label surgical specimens for examination by the pathologist EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities 1.Technical Duties

  1. 1 Prepares gross surgical specimens for Pathology Assistant or Pathologist
  2. Other duties
  1. 1 Maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing specimens and slides.
  2. Quality
  1. 1 Investigates and documents problems with unacceptable specimens
  2. Problem solving
  1. 1 Follows established guidelines for troubleshooting instrument, reagent or specimen problems
  2. Regulation Compliance
  1. 1 Complies with established laboratory and hospital policies for universal precautions and safety
  2. People
  1. 1 Participates in staff meetings, helps promote effective working relationships
  2. Customer Service
7.1 Uses Patient/Family centered values/Conducts all work activities with respect to the rights and wishes of patients, visitors and patients families Qualifications

EDUCATION

Successfully completed a NAACLS accredited histotechnician program within the last 5 years. This requirement is waived for individuals who have a current HT(ASCP) certification OR At least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), or an associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory.

EXPERIENCE

Three years of Histology experience preferred

LICENSURE
