We’re hiring an HVAC Service Technician with 3–5 years of field experience to troubleshoot, service, and maintain HVAC systems. This role is ideal for someone who’s confident in diagnosing issues, communicating clearly with customers and teammates, and completing work efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

in

Service & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, package units, and ventilation/exhaust equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components (motors, contactors, capacitors, relays, sensors, etc.)
• Perform start-ups and verify proper operation (pressures, temp split, superheat/subcooling, airflow)

Preventive Maintenance

• Complete scheduled PMs: filters, belts, coil cleaning, drain line maintenance, inspections, and general system checks
• Identify worn or failing components and recommend repairs before breakdowns occur

Controls & Documentation

• Troubleshoot basic controls (thermostats, safeties, relays, low-voltage wiring)
• Document service work accurately (issues found, repairs made, parts used, recommendations)
• Communicate status and job progress with the supervisor and/or customer

Safety & Professionalism

• Follow company safety policies and jobsite requirements; use PPE and safe work practices
• Handle refrigerants and materials responsibly and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years HVAC service experience
• EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycle, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC components
• Ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (gauges, multimeter, temperature probes)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC experience
• Experience with basic BAS/controls interface points
• Manufacturer training (Trane, Carrier, Lennox, etc.)

Physical & Work Conditions

• Field-based role in Houston and surrounding areas
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops as needed
• May require occasional extended hours or weekends based on service demand
