Position Overview

This role is situated at our organization’s Behavioral Health Department within the Army Medical Center located at Fort Bragg, NC. We are seeking a civilian Supervisory Physician specializing in Psychiatry. Our facility, named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, is a fully accredited 110-bed regional medical center and Graduate Medical Education (GME) facility. We serve Fort Liberty, the largest U.S. Army installation globally and home to Airborne and Special Operations. Our organization operates several high-quality Primary Care practice locations in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty is conveniently positioned just two hours from the beach and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95 for travel north and south. As a Supervisory Physician in Psychiatry, your duties will include:

• Defining the overall scope of professional services and administrative policies while providing medical and administrative guidance.
• Acting as a subject matter expert on Army and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) behavioral health policies to effectively meet organizational goals and objectives.
• Offering consultation, advisory, and liaison services, with the ability to adapt to various population needs as required.
• Engaging in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, utilization reviews, risk management, and peer review processes.
• Performing first-level supervisory tasks, including planning work for subordinates, setting short-term priorities, and preparing work schedules.
• Overseeing all aspects of the Behavioral Health clinic and services, ensuring patient-centered care and access to quality treatment.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients, reviewing laboratory and clinical findings, and prescribing appropriate treatments or referring patients to specialty clinics as necessary.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry is required.
• Medical malpractice liability insurance is not necessary for federal civilian healthcare providers, as they are protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their duties.
• Candidates must possess a permanent, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
