Across EMEA, our Legal team plays a critical role in enabling the business—providing proactive, commercially focused legal advice, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join our EMEA Legal function, based in Abu Dhabi. This is a high-impact role providing strategic legal support across the region, with exposure to complex commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Sales, HR, Finance, Operations, and leadership teams, ensuring legal compliance while supporting business growth and innovation.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, the ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional environments, and the confidence to influence decision-making at senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Business Support
- Provide high-quality, timely, and commercially focused legal advice across all areas of the business
- Act as a subject matter expert on laws and regulations impacting Insight’s EMEA (primarily Gulf) operations
- Advise senior stakeholders on legal risk, governance, compliance, and strategic initiatives
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal audiences
Contracts & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- Technology and cloud agreements
- Reseller and distributor contracts
- Services and solutions agreements
- AI related services agreements
- Support contract governance and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Deliver training to internal teams on contract best practices
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across EMEA, including data protection (GDPR and local Gulf equivalents)
- Anticipate regulatory changes and proactively prepare the business to adapt
- Support development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Promote strong corporate governance and risk management practices
Dispute Resolution & Legal Projects
- Support and manage disputes, litigation, and investigations in the best interests of the business
- Lead or contribute to complex legal projects and transformation initiatives
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and third-party advisors
Team Contribution & Leadership
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the function
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including cost optimisation and margin enhancement

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Qualified lawyer with a recognised legal qualification in a relevant jurisdiction
- Significant experience in a commercial legal role (in-house or private practice)
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, regulatory frameworks, and compliance
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to manage complex legal issues with sound judgement and pragmatism
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and business-focused
- Highly adaptable, resilient, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience working in-house within a multinational organisation
- Background in the technology, IT services, or cloud industry
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional legal environments across EMEA
- English and Arabic language skills
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience
