System Administrator

Overview Position: System Administrator DK Consulting Overview: Founded in May 2003, DK Consulting, LLC, a woman-owned small business, was formed to provide management and technology solutions based on industry best practices. DK Consulting, LLC works with multiple State, Federal, and Commercial customers, and our services range from providing customers with that one ‘critical resource’ to assuming responsibility for an entire IT project. The client is seeking an experienced System Administrator with 9 years of hands-on experience to support the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows-based environments and VMware virtualization, along with a solid technical education. This role requires onsite support in Baltimore, Maryland, with the opportunity for remote work in the future based on performance and project needs. Client: Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) Work Location: 707 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore Maryland. 100% onsite with the possibility of a hybrid schedule in the future Interview Mode: Virtual via MS Teams Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows Server environments Manage and support VMware virtual infrastructure, including monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting Provide day-to-day system administration support for servers, storage, and related infrastructure Perform system upgrades, patches, backups, and recovery operations Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, hardware, and software issues Support security controls, compliance requirements, and best practices for government environments Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support SHA infrastructure Create and maintain system documentation, procedures, and operational guides Participate in after-hours or on-call support as required Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field Minimum 9 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role Strong experience with Microsoft Windows System Administration Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi environments Experience supporting enterprise or government IT environments Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure No Visa restrictions #J-18808-Ljbffr DK Consulting
