Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with NMTCB or ARRT (nuclear medicine) certification for a 13-week contract in Elizabethtown, KY.

Details

• Nuclear Medicine department in an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy license (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia, Arrhythmia, or ECG course
• Certification by the NMTCB or ARRT in nuclear medicine
• Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT- or JRCNMT-accredited institution, or graduation from a military Nuclear Medicine Program
• Proficiency in operating gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment
• Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques
• Commitment to radiation safety practices and compliance with regulatory standards
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• License verification required if applicable

Additional Information

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed protocols, ensuring proper dosage and injection technique
• Operate gamma cameras and other specialized imaging equipment to capture and analyze nuclear medicine images
• Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate records of radiation doses administered
• Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
• Maintain detailed procedural records and generate accurate reports for inclusion in patient medical records
• Participate in staff orientation and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine
• Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field is preferred
