Shipping Coordinator (Temp-to-Hire) - 3rd Shift

Location: Peru, IL
Pay: $19.50/hour
Schedule:

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Training required on 1st and/or 2nd shift prior to transition

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join a growing warehouse in Peru. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates looking to grow with a stable organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage inbound shipment scheduling
Communicate with carriers via phone and email regarding availability, delays, and delivery updates
Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records using SAP or similar systems
Count and verify product inventory for accuracy
Assist in shipping department operations to ensure timely processing of orders
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting and communication
Support team operations by multitasking across various shipping functions
Operate (or learn to operate) a small forklift to assist with department needs

Qualifications & Skills

Experience in a transportation, logistics, or shipping department preferred
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High level of dependability and attention to detail
Willingness to learn and operate a small forklift
