Oncology Sales Representative - Richmond/Southern Virginia
Merck
Merck seeks an Oncology Sales Representative for the Richmond/Southern Virginia territory to engage customers, educate stakeholders on oncology products, and drive sales goals. This field-based role requires travel within the region and collaboration with internal teams to support cancer care providers.
Responsibilities
- Attain or exceed assigned sales goals in collaboration with territory team members
- Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structures, identify needs, and build business relationships
- Communicate product value using approved messaging and patient-centered rationale for indicated uses
- Analyze market trends across drug distribution channels and prescription patterns
- Coordinate with cross-functional team including Customer Team Leader, Key Account Manager, and Nurse Educator
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years sales experience, or high school diploma plus 8 years equivalent professional experience
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel 10-15% overnight within territory
- Knowledge of oncology treatment pathways, cancer staging, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Account management and customer relationship building skills
- Preferred: 2+ years field-based oncology pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience
