Project Architect

A Project Architect/Designer at H2M architects + engineers works alongside the design team, solves problems, coordinates design details, and supports the team effort in preparing architectural design drawings and specifications from schematic design to construction documents. Our work environment includes a first-class office with the latest CAD, Revit, and BIM tools, on-site fieldwork, and the client’s project location.

We offer this role for both licensed and non-licensed professionals at two levels, Project Architect 1 & 2, and Project Designer 1 & 2, recognizing growth in technical capabilities, autonomy, and responsibility as experience increases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist project teams and work on a variety of projects from design through construction administration.
• Generate and manage the development of architectural design and project drawings.
• Interface/coordinate architecture and engineering disciplines to develop and execute architectural design concepts.
• Function as a project-lead and designer to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• Manage client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited institution.
• 5 to 10 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer (Architectural license highly desired).
• Project Architect 1 (5 to 6 years with a license), Project Designer 1 (4 to 7 years, unlicensed).
• Project Architect 2 (6 to 8 years, with a license), Project Designer 2 (7 to 10 years, unlicensed).
• Ability to independently define/detail architectural concepts and perform limited code review and program analysis.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Additional Requirements

• This role requires some travel. Business-related travel may involve visits to project sites, client locations, and other H2M offices and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
• This is an exempt, salaried role that may occasionally require flexibility outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays, to support project schedules, client needs, and business priorities.

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range is between $75,000 to $110,000 annually.
• Project Architect/Designer 1: $75,000 to $100,000
• Project Architect/Designer 2: $90,000 to $110,000
