Production Artist

Payrate $55.00- $60.00/hr. Summary We are seeking a highly creative 3D & Concept Artist who understands how Minecraft shows up in pop culture and can transform ideas, stories, and strategic concepts into compelling visual artwork that audiences want to engage with, share, and remember. This is a hands‑on creator role supporting Minecraft’s global marketing and social efforts across owned, earned, and paid channels. The successful candidate will create high‑quality 3D artwork, visual concepts, mockups, sketches, key visuals, and presentation‑ready creative assets that support social media, paid media, marketing campaigns, franchise initiatives, product launches, and community activations. Working closely with Creative, Marketing, Social, and Production teams, this individual will help bring ideas to life in ways that feel playful, relevant, and unmistakably Minecraft. Responsibilities Create high-quality 3D artwork, visual concepts, key visuals, sketches, mockups, and creative explorations for social media, paid media, marketing campaigns, franchise initiatives, and community activations. Translate creative briefs, business objectives, franchise moments, and marketing strategies into compelling visual concepts that communicate ideas clearly and inspire stakeholders. Develop concept artwork, environmental imagery, product visualizations, campaign assets, and creative mockups that help define and evolve project visual directions. Create presentation-ready visual materials that support planning, pitching, and creative development efforts. Produce artwork that can be adapted across multiple channels and formats, including social media, websites, paid media, events, presentations, marketing campaigns, and partner materials. Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Marketing teams, Social teams, Producers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and brand standards. Explore multiple visual directions and iterations while balancing creativity, speed, and quality. Stay current with trends in design, gaming, entertainment, technology, and culture, proactively identifying new visual opportunities and creative approaches. Experiment with new tools, workflows, and AI-enabled creative processes to enhance efficiency, ideation, concept development, and creative exploration. Ensure all artwork aligns with Company and Minecraft brand standards, accessibility guidelines, confidentiality requirements, and community expectations. Experience Requirements 5 to 7+ years of experience in 3D art, concept art, visual development, entertainment art, marketing design, gaming, or related creative fields. Exceptional portfolios may be considered in place of years of experience. Demonstrated experience taking projects from concept through execution while effectively communicating creative direction and intent. Experience creating artwork that supports marketing objectives and audience engagement across multiple channels and touchpoints. Experience developing mockups, visual prototypes, concept materials, and campaign assets that help stakeholders align creative ideas. Experience collaborating across Creative, Marketing, Social, Production, Community, and leadership teams. Experience working within fast-paced creative cycles, incorporating feedback efficiently and maintaining quality under tight deadlines. Required Skills Strong portfolio demonstrates expertise in 3D artwork, concept development, visual storytelling, mockups, sketches, key visuals, campaign creative, or related work. Strong understanding of composition, lighting, color, form, storytelling, and visual communication principles. Ability to define visual direction and communicate concepts through sketches, mockups, visual explorations, and finished artwork. Ability to work across multiple levels of fidelity, from rapid concept exploration to polished presentation materials and final creative assets. Proficiency with industry‑standard 3D and creative tools used for modeling, rendering, visual development, and image creation. Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams. Ability to adapt creative work across multiple formats and marketing channels. Social‑first creative mindset with an understanding of content designed for social engagement and audience interaction. Preferred Skills Experience with AI‑enabled creative workflows, including ideation, concept development, design exploration, rendering workflows, and rapid iteration while maintaining originality and quality. Experience supporting entertainment, gaming, marketing, or franchise‑focused creative initiatives. Familiarity with global brands and creating content for broad consumer audiences. Experience with Minecraft and a strong understanding of the Minecraft community, culture, and visual identity. Pay Transparency The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $55.00 - $60.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
