Roughrider North Human Service Zone is hiring an Eligibility Worker in Dickinson, North Dakota. The role involves providing assessment and eligibility determination for various programs by interpreting and applying complex state, federal, and county policies. Example duties include conducting interviews of applicants and recipients, processing client applications, establishing electronic records, attending training and workshops, performing defined case changes, workflow functions, and determinations, interpreting state, federal, and county policies, monitoring program and policy updates, and maintaining working knowledge of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and other regulations.

To succeed in this position, you must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, and the capacity to make effective decisions in a dynamic and evolving environment with diverse populations. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs. Additionally, you will need to have a strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures.

To be considered for the Eligibility Worker position, you require the minimum qualifications listed below for the Eligibility Worker Technician level, plus one year of work experience involving duties directly related to determining eligibility for human services economic assistance programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Foster Care, Medicaid, Low Income Home Energy Program, or completion of the eligibility worker two-year associate degree program.

Eligibility Worker Technician: If unable to fill as an Eligibility Worker, we will consider filling as an Eligibility Worker Technician which requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: completion of the eligibility worker one-year certificate program, completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program, three years of work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, housing assistance, or work experience in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments, financial planning, or computer/data processing fields, three years of any combination of education and experience listed above. Salary will be adjusted if the position is filled with an Eligibility Worker Technician. Must maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance. Some travel throughout the region could occur.
