The Queen's Medical Center Department of Cardiology seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join the Queen's Heart Institute, Hawaii's premier tertiary and quaternary cardiovascular referral center.

The successful candidate will join a comprehensive team of imaging cardiologists, heart failure specialists, interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and advanced practice providers dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art cardiovascular care to patients throughout the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific region.

The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in Cardiac Electrophysiology, with experience in the evaluation and management of arrhythmias and cardiac implantable devices. The position includes a balanced practice consisting of ablations, device implantation and management, inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic, and EP-only call. Candidates with demonstrated leadership experience and interest in program development may have opportunities to assume a leadership role.

Queen's Heart Institute and Center for Heart Rhythm Disorders offers the full spectrum of contemporary EP procedures. It is home to Hawaii's highest-volume AF ablation program and the state's only program to offer zero-radiation ablation, epicardial ablation for ventricular tachycardia (VT), ablation for VT with advanced hemodynamic support as well percutaneous laser lead extraction.


The electrophysiology program is well-supported by dedicated clinic coordinators, advanced practice providers, structural imaging specialists, and experienced EP laboratory staff, as well as regular multidisciplinary conferences and collaborative procedural planning.

The Queen's Medical Center is the largest hospital in Hawaii, serving as the primary tertiary and quaternary referral center for the state and the Pacific Basin. The cardiovascular service line supports over 500 acute care beds and manages a diverse spectrum of complex cardiovascular disease.

Queen's University Medical Group is affiliated with the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and serves as the primary teaching site for medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiovascular fellows. Faculty appointments are available commensurate with experience, with opportunities for teaching, program development, quality improvement, clinical research, and participation in national registries and multicenter trials.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or ECFMG certification.
  • Fellowship training in Adult Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Electrophysiology within two (2) years of hire.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii or eligible for licensure.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical staff privileges at The Queen's Medical Center.
EXPERIENCE
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary heart team collaboration and evidence-based patient care
  • Interest in quality improvement, clinical research, and physician education encouraged.
  • During employment, shall remain a member of The Queen's Medical Center Medical Staff in good standing with appropriate clinical privileges.
  • Qualified for faculty appointment at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Base salary begins at $674,525/year with opportunity for additional incentives.
