Job Details This role is a typical 8‑week assignment. Acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing. Responsibilities Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family, and other groups or disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, introducing oneself to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions and adjusting communication style. Perform other related duties as assigned. Physical & Environmental Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Heavy work may involve exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works within a patient care area and may encounter communicable diseases. There is also an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste. Education Required – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required – 1 year of experience as a registered nurse. Certifications Required – Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Certification in clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Ability to demonstrate good judgement. Strong interpersonal skills.
