Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM / 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Self-scheduling | Every third weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Orthopedic unit with a patient population including total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, CHF, sepsis, pneumonia, oncology, fractures, and patients with mental health or addiction history
• Maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, performing hourly rounding and conducting bedside shift reports
• Administer and monitor set-rate and titratable drips including heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombotics, and narcotics (titration of drips not required)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:10 ratio), and unit monitor staff to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
• Float as needed to the Progressive Care Unit and a behavioral health unit
• Participate in a unit-specific orientation including classroom training and a 12-hour shift on the unit

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Ability to pass a required open-book skills examination with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Compliance with facility dress code (navy blue scrubs) and fingernail policy (no artificial nails permitted in patient care areas)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in Medical Surgical or Orthopedic nursing
• Experience caring for diverse patient populations including those with behavioral health, substance use, or housing instability backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt to change, and thrive in a self-directed environment
