Empower young learners in a dynamic self-contained classroom setting as a dedicated paraprofessional! Support students’ growth by providing guidance, encouragement, and hands-on assistance each school day. This full-time contract opportunity is located near Franklin, NC, with hours from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, offering meaningful engagement in a collaborative educational environment.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional, especially within school settings
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those in self-contained classrooms
- Knowledge of basic educational principles and classroom management strategies
- Patience, strong communication skills, and a positive, flexible attitude
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework related to education or special education is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teacher in delivering instruction and managing classroom activities
- Provide individualized support to students with varying abilities, helping them achieve their goals
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher and team
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed
- Support students with daily routines, self-care, and social-emotional learning
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
- Maintain a safe, organized learning environment
