Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Extern, you'll be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands-on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. You'll help deliver safe, compassionate care that improves patients' lives while building the skills and confidence to take on more advanced responsibilities as you progress through your nursing program.

Job Summary

The Nurse Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Externassiststhe nursing staff in providing patient carein accordance withthe Nurse Extern's skills/training and the needs of theDepartment, andconsistentlyassiststhe patient care team withmaintaininga clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Nurse Extern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing

• Preference will be given to those in Second Semester and beyond

• BLS

• Self-motivated andstrong communicationskillsrequired
