Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech, language and dysphagia services to patients. The Speech Language Pathologist provides a full range of Speech therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and interventions in a manner consistent with qualifications and standards of practice.

Qualifications/Position Requirements:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Graduate of a Master's or Doctoral Program
• Demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families and other support personnel.
• Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees.
• Influences the direction of Speech Language Services by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence in the delivery of therapy services.
• Ability to promote and adapt to change in order to keep current with Speech Therapy care duties.
• Ability to apply the principals of quality speech therapy care and prepare patient programs.
• Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and positive attitude.
• Ability to delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.

Licensure/Certification Current State of Michigan Speech Language Pathologist. Current BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
