Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Schedule: Self-scheduling with 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week period; 48-hour shifts approved; floating between units required; no on-call

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience mandatory
• Proficiency in core Med/Surg skills including: accessing/managing ports, bariatric surgery care, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, bowel obstruction care, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube management, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and PCA management
• Experience with palliative care, pre/post neurosurgery, renal failure, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must be located outside 50-mile local radius or accepted at adjusted rate
