SOAR Frueauff Graduate Assistant

Position Summary The Student Outreach & Resource Center at Rollins College is seeking a service‑oriented SOAR Frueauff Graduate Assistant to join their team. The role supports the College’s mission of educating students for global citizenship and responsible leadership, empowering graduates to pursue meaningful lives and productive careers. The GA reports to the Assistant Director and provides oversight of crisis management cases and other student‑related issues. As a non‑clinical care manager for undergraduate students, the GA will support students facing challenges related to mental health, academic concerns, and other campus behaviors. Responsibilities include planning and delivering interventions, referrals, and follow‑up services; maintaining accurate case records; and providing outreach and support to students. Primary Responsibilities Student Outreach and Support Meet with students referred to the Student Outreach & Resource Center. Collaborate with appropriate staff to support students of concern. Support community members seeking guidance around a range of student‑related issues. Maintain factual case documentation. Provide follow‑up outreach services. Provide one‑on‑one appointments focused on organizational strategies such as time management, academic planning, and other skills to support student success. Division and Departmental Meetings Attend bi‑weekly team meetings, weekly one‑on‑one supervisor meetings, and monthly division meetings. Campus Initiatives Represent the Student Outreach & Resource Center at departmental programming, open houses, and student activity fairs. Other Development Opportunities Collaborate with the Wellness Center, Title IX, Accessibility Services, and other campus constituents that support student care needs. Participate in staff development opportunities, including the Graduate Assistant curriculum, with an emphasis on holistic development and personal well‑being. Minimum Qualifications & Skill Sets Strong interpersonal communication and challenge‑resolution skills, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by student learners. Strong management skills with the demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage, implement, and evaluate multiple cases over varied timelines and to work independently when instructed. Knowledge of time‑management and organizational skills, a working knowledge of campus resources, and a willingness to learn new skills throughout the year. Enthusiasm and creativity in devising new ways to promote the department, receive student referrals, and work with each student’s individual needs. Ability to handle difficult situations and confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism, and a flexible time schedule. Office hours are Monday‑Friday 8:30 AM‑5:00 PM. Education Requirement & Eligibility Graduate Assistant positions are open only to graduate students who are international students (F‑1, J‑1 visa & DACA) or domestic students eligible for work study. Ineligible students will not be considered. Pending hire offer, new student employees who have not worked at Rollins within the last two years will need to complete the new hire process. Additional Position Information Anticipated Employment Dates: August 24, 2026 – May 4, 2027 Work Schedule: The GA position is for the academic semester with an option to extend through the 2026‑2027 academic year. Scheduled work hours will be arranged each semester in agreement with the supervisor. Pay Rate: $17 per hour, no benefits. Work Environment: Campus‑based, front‑facing customer service position working in a community/field environment; requires visual strain and regular use of a computer; able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed. Employment Eligibility: All new employees must be eligible and show employment eligibility verification by the first date of employment, as legally required (e.g., Form I‑9). Proof of authorization to work in the United States must be provided. The College may not offer H‑1B sponsorship.
