Logistician

The Logistician will analyze and oversee the organizations supply chain and the life cycle of assigned products from acquisition through distribution, delivery, and, when necessary, discontinuation. This position reports directly to the Program Manager and Regional Manager.

1. Communicates with customers and/or support staff to understand customers needs and to ensure those needs are met.
2. Coordinates availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.
3. Creates and/or deploys project management tools and systems; implements plans, schedules, and compliance metrics.
4. Collects or oversees the collection of product and project performance data; analyzes data for further product development and improvement.
5. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs, production time, and other areas lacking efficiency; recommends improvements.
6. Prepares reports and presents project plans, progress, and results.
7. Performs other related duties, as required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and on various job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE when required. Visits may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary depending on schedule and job contract. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
2. Five years related experience preferred
3. Must be able to obtain a TWIC and D-Bids badges via a background check.
4. Extensive knowledge of acquisitions and distribution.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Pre-Employment Requirements
