Adaptative Physical Education Teacher

Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher Make an Impact Where It Matters TSP Ed Co is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to join our team and support students in a school setting in Los Angeles, CA. This is a great opportunity for an APE Teacher who enjoys creating inclusive physical education experiences, building meaningful relationships with students, and helping children develop the motor, physical, social, and functional skills they need to participate successfully in school and daily activities. What You'll Do As an Adaptive PE Teacher, you will work collaboratively with special education staff and other members of the educational team to provide individualized physical education instruction and support. Responsibilities may include: Developing and delivering adapted physical education lessons based on individual student needs Providing individualized and small-group instruction to students with diverse abilities Assessing students' motor skills, physical abilities, and participation needs Developing and implementing appropriate physical education goals and activities Modifying equipment, activities, and instructional strategies to promote student participation Supporting students in developing gross motor, coordination, balance, strength, and functional movement skills Monitoring and documenting student progress toward individualized goals Collaborating with teachers, therapists, families, and other school professionals Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student goals and programming Maintaining student confidentiality and following all school and TSP Ed Co policies Qualifications Active California teaching credential or authorization appropriate for Adaptive Physical Education Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field Experience working with children or adolescents preferred Experience supporting students with disabilities or diverse physical needs is a plus Knowledge of adapted physical education practices, motor development, and inclusive instruction Ability to modify activities and equipment to meet individual student needs Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students succeed Ability to meet all applicable school, licensing, and employment requirements Why TSP Ed Co?
