THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays an important role in keeping the center safe, orderly, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. The responsibilities support daily operations by ensuring safety, enforcing rules, and assisting in emergency responses. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Patrol Activities: Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to maintain safety and enforce rules
• Safety Monitoring: Observe individuals and property and report suspicious activity or safety issues to supervisors
• Emergency Response: Assist during fires, accidents, or other emergencies and help first responders as needed
• Building Security: Secure buildings and operate doors and access points according to schedules
• Reception Coverage: Maintain order in the lobby area and dispatch staff during emergencies
• Transportation Duties: Transport individuals, property, and secure materials to designated locations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are determined from the following shifts:
  • 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM
  • 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM
• Overtime is required.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Other Requirements:

• You must possess and maintain a CPR Certificate upon hire.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
