Floor Leader (Part-Time)

Summary The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display, pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning). Works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates, and provide leadership. Compensation Pay range: $16.90-$20/hr. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus 3% commission on sales. Sales Generation and Guest Service Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, consistently providing legendary service. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires. Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience. Demonstrate products using thorough product knowledge and sales education, sharing knowledge with the team. Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices. Maintain consistent personal sales, while seeking opportunities to influence teammates’ presentations via the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG). Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management. Provide legendary service throughout the store in Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area. Be knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures and turn them into show‑making opportunities. Use the SPG daily to achieve goals. Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs. Investigate and navigate inventory expansion with the Inventory Manager and other tools. Build guest relationships to develop a client‑based business. Lead by example with showmanship, customer service, and attentiveness. Recognize and communicate guest levels with the team. Ask business‑driven, show‑making questions to managers, leaders, and teammates. Coachable: Allow managers to educate on sales presentations. Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not management is present. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development Recognize recruiting opportunities via Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and teammate recommend. Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating, and educating new teammates to meet Buckle’s standards on a daily basis. Maintain a positive attitude to create a positive floor culture. Model personal dress code to coach teammates and leaders into latest fashion. Participate in daily setup, training, impact reviews, and use the Performance Tracker. Motivate teammates to initiate and complete daily tasks. Passion to demonstrate, coach, and influence denim show‑making and fit card results through teammates and guests. Create results in your department and balance all DM actions within your segment, completing the mid‑week check‑in. Demonstrate leadership actions during segments: Be aware of guests and ensure they are helped. Engage guests with products. Update fellow leaders and team vocalically. Collect guest names. Collaborate with different gender‑team associations to benefit teammates and guests. Visual Merchandise Management Own and influence product through zone ownership: Product knowledge, placement, passion, preference. Weekly checklist. Product lifecycle. Track results. Assign zones and projects daily with clear learning goals. Ensure teammates follow visual standards and the weekly visual checklist. Execute and demonstrate new tools and videos for zone ownership, answering related questions. Identify merchandising opportunities from freight to floor, recommending solutions to the store manager. Conduct informative store tours. Keep the sales floor consistently stocked and display freight properly. Operations Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Use the planner for opening and closing checklists. Identify security risks and apply loss‑prevention measures. Follow loss‑prevention guidelines, including bag and purse checks. Execute and teach all point‑of‑sale procedures. Handle calls from Corporate Office appropriately. Apply Buckle guidelines for returns and exchanges. Maintain a positive attitude with challenging guest or teammate situations. Execute policies on payments, exchanges, and loss‑prevention. Navigate all home‑page tools. Provide feedback to all non‑sales positions. Cover scheduled shifts and provide coverage when needed. Report merchandise handling concerns to management. Report policy violations and concerns confidentially. Maintain a clean, organized store to fulfill the mission.
