Senior Manager, ControllershipLocation: Chicago, ILWhat this job involves:As Senior Manager for Americas REMS at JLL, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial excellence across our diverse real estate portfolio. This position empowers you to drive strategic financial reporting and analysis while leading transformational initiatives that strengthen our accounting operations. Your analytical expertise and leadership will be instrumental in supporting mergers and acquisitions, coordinating audits, and delivering comprehensive financial insights that drive business success across the Americas region.What your day-to-day will look like:Review contracts to ensure proper application of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidanceAdvise business and operations teams on revenue recognition for the PDS and Portfolio business linesPrepare P&L and balance sheet commentary for the US and Canada as neededPartner with business operations and finance to close monthly and quarterly financial statements for PDS and PortfolioComplete and review SOX controls prepared by the PDS and Portfolio teamGuide and support the outsourced Hyderabad controllership team, which handles day-to-day tasks, as their dotted-line managerLead finance and controllership touchpoint meetings, maintaining checklists to ensure timely monthly and quarterly close activities with global stakeholdersOversee REMS compliance with global balance sheet reconciliation policies, approving reconciliations and developing executive-level reporting for leadershipSupport KPMG audits and statutory reviews, leading control walkthroughs and supporting revenue, expense, and balance sheet testingDevelop and deliver training to the REMS controllership team on accounting procedures, reconciliation standards, and new company initiativesDrive continuous improvement by identifying automation opportunities and implementing process enhancements that increase team efficiencyRequired qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with active CPA certificationMinimum 6 years of core accounting and/or auditing experience, including complex financial operationsPrior team management or supervisory experience leading and developing accounting professionalsExtensive experience performing in-depth accounting research and communicating findings in clear, analytical writingStrong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExecutive-level communication skills, with confidence engaging senior management and cross-functional stakeholdersDetail-oriented approach combined with strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsPreferred qualifications:Public accounting experience with Big Four or similar firmsExperience in multinational corporations and/or SEC registrantsBackground in real estate or professional servicesAdvanced proficiency in financial systems and data analytics toolsExperience with SOX compliance and internal controls frameworksDemonstrated success in process improvement and automation initiativesOur Value Proposition manifesto statements are as follows:At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employeesWe believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thriveWe embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your careerWhat sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globeWe support each other’s wellbeing and champion inclusivity and belonging across teamsWe choose to take the more inspiring, innovative, and optimistic path on our journey toward successThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
