Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position is located in Nampa, Idaho. The role involves providing specialized obstetric care within a fast-paced high-volume unit. The nurse will be responsible for attending deliveries, managing postpartum and antepartum patients, and ensuring patient safety and comfort according to neonatal and maternal care standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE certification, and at least 3 years of experience in labor and delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mother-baby care, magnesium protocol management, charge nurse responsibilities, and familiarity with Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) system (Centricity).
• Duties: Attending deliveries, stabilizing newborns, performing physical assessments, circling cesarean sections, managing postpartum couplets, titrating drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin, assisting with triage, and providing postpartum care within a diverse patient population.
• Staffing Notes: Day-to-day staffing includes charge RNs, resource RNs, triage RNs, nurse aides, CSTs, and CNA support. The unit maintains 24/7 OB hospitalist, neonatal nurse practitioner, and anesthesia coverage.
• Float and Coverage: RNs may float across all St. Lukes Treasure Valley sitesMeridian, Nampa, Boiseand are expected to adhere to the 50-mile radius rule.
• Orientation & Dress: Four shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided. Hospital-issued scrubs are required, changed at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Additional Notes: Travelers may extend and return for multiple assignments. The position includes a no fingernail lacquer policy due to NICU embedded within the unit. Shift start times are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with weekend flexibility, but no minimum holiday or call requirements.
