Director Finance

Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate Finance is part of a top-tier finance accounting and analytics team which supports business leaders and executives in their efforts to make decisions to implement strategies and operational improvements that enhance the Company’s performance. This intellectually curious individual will work with high integrity intensity and will communicate effectively with senior leaders in the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Prepare analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance rate of return cash flow and liquidity and debt covenant sensitivities

Maintain and own budget/forecasting process for Corporate division of SelectQuote including multiyear P&L and variance analysis

Manage consolidated balance sheet and cash flow statement

Lead weekly cash flow forecasting process including executive presentation

Coordinate with broader finance team to distribute consolidated financial reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis

Prepare executive and external reporting including financial statements and operational KPI’s

Partner with business leaders to determine strategic operational or financial objectives and identify opportunities to meet those goals

Support treasury functions and as needed lead M&A and capital structure related modeling

Skills/Abilities:

 

Expert proficiency in Excel; experience building and maintaining complex models

Deep understanding of accounting principles and the interaction between Income Statement Balance Sheet and Cash Flow

Proficiency in SQL and Cube-based reporting a plus

Desire to achieve high personal and team goals

Ability to manage and lead in a very fluid and high performing environment

Strong work ethic and competitive nature

Extremely articulate; strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree required (Finance Accounting Economics Business or related field)

MBA or CPA preferred

10+ years of applicable finance and/or accounting experience required

Financial Responsibilities (budget revenue):

This position has no budget responsibility authority and/or level of control.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Qualifications

The Director of Finance is the key finance leader and primary point of contact for the Healthcare business, working as part of a top-tier finance, accounting, and analytics team. This role owns the budgeting and forecasting cycles for a complex business unit, delivers monthly financial reporting with root-cause analysis, and partners directly with business leaders and senior executives to inform decisions, implement strategies, and drive operational improvements that enhance the Company’s performance. This intellectually curious individual will work with high integrity and intensity and will communicate effectively with senior leaders across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the key finance leader and primary point of contact for the Healthcare business
• Own the regular budget and forecasting cycles for a highly complex business unit, managing a large number of variable KPIs
• Oversee preparation of monthly financial reporting and comparison analysis, identifying root causes behind variances
• Present financial results and analysis to senior executives across the company
• Lead financial analytics for ad hoc cost-benefit business decisions
• Support the VP of Finance with special projects, board of directors presentations, and financial strategy
• Partner directly with business leaders and regularly participate in business decisions

 

Skills/Abilities:
