Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $30–$35/hour

About the Role

We're looking for a dependable and skilled Class B Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Los Alamos, NM .

This is a great opportunity for a machinist with solid hands-on experience who can confidently perform routine CNC and/or manual machining setups, read engineering drawings, use precision measuring equipment, and produce high-quality parts with limited supervision.

The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, follows established procedures, and is ready to continue developing their machining skills while working alongside experienced machinists.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment with limited supervision.

  • Manufacture parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances .

  • Select and install appropriate tooling and make routine machine adjustments.

  • Verify tooling, offsets, and setup information before and during machining operations.

  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specified requirements.

  • Use precision measuring equipment , including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.

  • Monitor machining operations and identify issues involving tooling, dimensions, surface finish, or machine performance.

  • Make routine adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.

  • Complete manufacturing and inspection travelers and other required production documentation accurately.

  • Report machining, drawing, tooling, or quality concerns to supervisors or Quality Assurance personnel.

  • Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures .

  • Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

  • Work effectively with senior machinists, supervisors, Quality Assurance, and production personnel.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Machinist or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints .

  • Working knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and basic tooling selection.

  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances and basic GD&T requirements.

  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.

  • Ability to perform routine machine setups and adjustments with limited supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and job-specific requirements.

  • Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.

Preferred Experience

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • CNC lathes

  • CNC mills

  • Multi-axis machining

  • Precision machining

  • Controlled manufacturing environments

  • Manufacturing documentation and traceability

  • Inspection and quality requirements

  • Customer-specific quality standards
