Preschool Assistant Teacher

Bethany Lutheran Church Preschool Assistant Teacher Austin, TX·Part time As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you'll partner with a Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where children can learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and thrives in a collaborative, faith-based environment. Description This is a part-time, non-exempt position working up to 20 hours per week. Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation. Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate learning and play. Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom. Assist with snack, lunch, playground, and daily routines. Encourage positive behavior and healthy social development. Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Participate in chapel and other preschool activities. Follow all safety, licensing, and Bethany Preschool policies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with young children preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, patient, and positive attitude. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively supervise young children.
