Position: Aide, Pre-Kindergarten
Location: La Porte Elementary Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instruction. Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher(s). Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher. Job Qualifications:

Minimum- $12.04/hr
Midpoint- $14.50/hr
Compensation based on job-like experience.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate
- Associate's Degree or 48 or more college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking
- Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
- Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress
Minimum- $12.04/hr
Midpoint- $14.50/hr
Compensation based on job-like experience.
