Become a part of our team at the Department of Veterans VA Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, as an Interventional Cardiologist!

The San Francisco VA Health Care System is on the lookout for a talented Interventional Cardiologist to enhance our Interventional Cardiology team at the SFVA Medical Center (SFVAMC). This facility caters to around 90,000 Veterans through the SFVAMC and nine community outpatient clinics. As a tertiary academic medical center, the SFVAMC handles approximately 5,000 inpatient admissions each year, providing a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient, and subspecialty services. Our state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab is complemented by a full array of CT Surgery services available on-site. The Cardiology Section operates within the Medical Service (Department of Medicine) of SFVAHCS and has an academic partnership with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Duties

The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional interventional cardiac care to our Veterans, executing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic coronary and structural procedures. The primary focus will be on interventional cardiology, while also engaging in general cardiology services.

This role not only involves direct patient care but also emphasizes a strong academic component, including teaching and mentoring UCSF's general and interventional cardiology fellows, as well as medical residents and students who frequently rotate through the SFVA. Depending on the candidate's interests, there may be opportunities for involvement in quality improvement initiatives, leadership roles, education, and research.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional cardiac procedures.
• Serve as an attending physician on the inpatient cardiology consult service and in the cardiac intensive care unit.
• Precept and/or attend to patients in the SFVA Cardiology Clinic.
• Interpret ECGs and ambulatory ECG monitors.

Additionally, you will supervise and educate general and interventional cardiology fellows, medical residents, and medical students who rotate through your services.

* Expected Salary Range: Between $345K - $400K (negotiable based on qualifications, credentials, and experience).

* Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.

* CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time and board certified).

* Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
