Start Date: October 2026

Location: Central New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, holiday rotation (1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs). Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2+ based on acuity. Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Highlights:

• Work in a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university, recognized as New Jersey's first Comprehensive Cardiac Center
• Care for complex cardiovascular patients requiring cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and ECMO
• Utilize EPIC charting system in a well-supported ICU environment with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response
• Float within skill set to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units as needed
• First-time travelers and local candidates welcome; competitive pay rates for all qualified applicants
• Navy blue scrubs provided

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (Stroke CEUs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered if initial training was completed in a CVICU setting
• Must have hands-on experience with fresh post-operative cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures
• Required experience with mechanical circulatory support devices: Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in arterial line management, central/PICC lines, IV therapy including cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, chest tube care, temporary pacers, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with post-op open heart recovery, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, hypothermia protocols, lumbar drains, and acute stroke management
• Charge nurse experience preferred
