Shift: FT 40 hours per week, afternoon shift 3pm-11:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Operates radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic radiographs and images. Performs diagnostic procedures according to established standards and radiation safety practices. Works directly with patients, radiologists, physicians and fellow associates. Follows established rules, regulations policies and procedures of Genesys Regional Medical Center. Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care to the age group(s) served.

Responsibilities include delivering quality patient care, producing quality radiographs, representing the hospital in a positive manner, ensuring proper patient identification, maintaining patient radiation protection, keeping current on new developments, assisting in the instruction and training of radiology students and new employees, acting as a technical resource, keeping work areas and equipment clean and orderly, maintaining supplies necessary to perform the job, assisting with clerical duties and transportation of patient when required.

Minimum Qualifications include demonstrating good guest relations skills, good communication skills, tact, diplomacy and being dependable, performing all the duties of position with discretion and maintaining patient confidentiality, being physically and mentally capable of performing all the duties of the position, being neat and clean in personal appearance and adhering to hospital dress code.

Essential Functions include being mobile and having normal manual dexterity, assisting, moving, transferring and lifting patients, moving standard radiological equipment, effectively communicating orally, in writing, by telephone, and with staff, physicians and patients, planning, following directions and problem solving, teaching and instructing, learning to operate the hospital, radiology computer systems and AGFA networking.

Working Conditions include lifting, assisting, supporting and transferring patients and supplies, standing and walking for a greater part of the day, subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards, exposed to patient illnesses and communicable diseases, work setting is hospital wide.

Orientation Requirements include participation in new employee orientation and center/department orientation.
