RN Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert (BH SME) – QIN - Jericho, NY (#25346)

Location:  Jericho, NY (90% Remote)
Employment Type: Part-time, 1099 Contract (20 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: $50/hr

Position Overview: Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert (BH SME) – QIN to fill a position with a Non-Profit organization located in Jericho, NY. This 1099 contract role is responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing cross-setting quality improvement strategies within hospital, nursing home, and physician practice settings. The BH SME works with senior leadership, direct care, and performance improvement professionals to provide technical assistance in workflow redesign, team building, communication skills, and emergency preparedness. This position is ideal for an experienced behavioral health professional with a strong quality improvement background who is passionate about improving transitions of care for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher
• Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York State.
• Experience:
• • At least three (3) years of experience working in a healthcare-related field.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in quality improvement.
• Additional Requirements:
• • Occasional travel within New York may be required for onsite provider visits or in-person meetings (no more than once per quarter).

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, implement, and manage cross-setting quality improvement strategies within hospital, nursing home, and physician practice settings.
• Provide technical assistance in workflow redesign, team building, communication, and emergency preparedness to support evidence-based behavioral health interventions, trauma-informed care, and workplace resiliency.
• Partner with healthcare and community organizations to improve care transitions for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses.
• Recruit and engage stakeholders—providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, human service agencies, political and business leaders, media, consultants, educational institutions, and Medicare beneficiaries—in collaborative partnerships.
• Develop and present instructional curriculum and learning modules with the Behavioral Health Aim Lead.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to incorporate participant feedback and adult learning principles into emergency preparedness content, including planning, risk assessment, continuity of operations, and quality improvement.
• Serve as a mentor or resource to HCQIP staff and provide technical assistance to enrolled providers with Quality Improvement Advisors.
• Ensure timely completion and submission of behavioral health reports and CMS documentation.
• Present intervention results to internal and external customers, including CMS, providers, management, and staff, and at conferences as requested.
• Assess training needs of clinicians, administrative, and ancillary staff, and coordinate educational efforts.
• Work with the HCQIP data analyst and Behavioral Health Aim Lead to design performance reports and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Attend and participate in regional conferences, department meetings, and professional education meetings.
