Instrument Technician

Our client, a leading environmental services organization, is seeking an Instrument Technician to join their team. As an Instrument Technician, you will be part of the Operations & Maintenance team supporting wastewater treatment plant instrumentation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Instrument Technician Job Type: Fulltime | Direct Hire Location: Oak Creek, WI Pay Range: $30-$40/hour (Based on Experience)

What's the Job?

Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul instrumentation used to monitor and control wastewater treatment processes.
Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and microprocessor-based equipment.
Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and calibration devices to support process instrumentation and controls.
Collaborate with engineers and vendors to install, start up, test, and modify new and existing control systems.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, update operating documentation, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.

What's Needed?

Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from an accredited technical college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, controls, or a related technical field.
Working knowledge of digital and analog electronics, instrumentation calibration, PLCs, DCS systems, and process controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams).
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces, heights, hazardous environments, and varying weather conditions.
