Echocardiogram Sonographer

This is a 13-week contract position.

DAYS 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiogram Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams while coordinating activities with hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic echocardiograms with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Coordinate with scheduling, transportation, and billing for exams.
• Assist cardiologists in preparing and measuring M-modes and sharing pertinent information.
• Address patient needs during exams and report changes to nursing staff or physicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in examination rooms.
• Log patient records and ensure they are accurately filed.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities at various levels.
• Share on-call coverage for echo emergency exams outside regular hours.
• Ensure quality control of echocardiography equipment and examinations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a two-year allied health related program preferred.
• A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required.
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required.
• BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
• Two years of experience performing echocardiograms preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with various disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills and manual dexterity.
