Respiratory Therapist Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport within the facility as prescribed by a physician. This role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and offering education to patients and caregivers upon discharge.

Administer physician-prescribed treatments and operate various ventilatory equipment, oxygen devices, and nebulizers.

Evaluate patient conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans.

Conduct chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance.

Perform suctioning by various methods including oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods.

Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.

Interpret and review patient chest x-rays for further evaluation.

Perform and recognize basic arrhythmias from 12-lead EKGs.

Assist with procedures related to respiratory care including bronchoscopy and trach placements.

Manage tracheostomy care, including tube insertion/removal when indicated.

Conduct arterial punctures and analyze ventilation efficiency.

Document all treatments and patient responses accurately in medical records.

Communicate treatment efficacy with relevant medical personnel.

Adhere to all safety and procedural guidelines for equipment management.

Valid Respiratory Therapy license and relevant certifications are required. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
