The Snubbing Assistant is an entry-level field operations position responsible for assisting with safe and efficient snubbing unit operations at the well site. Under the direction of the Snubbing Operator or supervisor, this role supports rig up, operation, and rig down activities for snubbing units and associated pressure control equipment, including fluid pump and nitrogen equipment. The position requires work in active oilfield environments, adherence to company and customer safety requirements, and the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists the Snubbing Operator with assigned snubbing functions to support safe, continuous, and efficient well site operations.
• Operates, or assists with operation of, snubbing units and associated pressure control equipment, including fluid pump and nitrogen equipment, as directed and only within assigned training, qualification, and authorization limits.
• Supports equipment preparation, loading, transport readiness, rig up, snubbing service operations, and rig down activities.
• Connects hydraulic hoses and assists with equipment startup, prime mover engagement, hydraulic pump operation, and verification of snubbing unit operating controls.
• Conducts routine maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep of snubbing units, tools, hoses, and related equipment.
• Completes or assists with pre-job and post-job inspections, testing, and required inspection documentation.
• Follows all company safety policies, job safety analyses, standard operating procedures, and customer site requirements.
• Uses safe work practices, actively participates in safety meetings, supports all safe acts, and exercises stop work authority when conditions are unsafe.
• Communicates work instructions, job status, hazards, equipment needs, and operational concerns to the Snubbing Operator and supervisor.
• Assists with job site operations and performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• May be required to work outside normal work schedules, including extended shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and travel, to meet customer and operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
• Valid, active state-issued driver license required. CDL is preferred and may be required if assigned duties involve operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Prior snubbing, workover rig, pressure control, heavy equipment, or oilfield operations experience preferred, but not required for otherwise qualified entry-level candidates.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions, safety procedures, job safety analyses, and customer site requirements.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment, communicate effectively, and interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and third-party representatives.
• Basic math, problem-solving, organizational, computer, and written communication skills required.
• Ability to perform work safely in a fast-paced, physically demanding field environment while managing multiple tasks and changing priorities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule and travel as the job requires.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• As an essential function of the role, frequently lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, or moves tools, hoses, equipment, and materials weighing up to 75 lbs.; team lift or mechanical assistance may be used for loads up to 100 lbs. or as required by the task.
• Performs work that typically requires standing up to 8 hours and walking up to 3 hours per shift, along with frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and occasional climbing.
• Climbs ladders, stairs, and equipment access points up to approximately 15 feet and may enter confined spaces when required to perform assigned job duties and when properly trained and authorized.
• Uses sufficient hand and grip strength to safely handle tools, hoses, controls, and snubbing-related equipment; job tasks may require approximately 80-100 lbs. of grip force depending on assigned work.
• Works primarily outdoors in field environments with exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, moving equipment, pressure control equipment, and active well site conditions.
• Typical schedule may include 12-hour shifts, rotational work schedules, extended hours, and approximately 60% travel based on operational needs.
• Uses required personal protective equipment as directed by company policy, customer requirements, and job-site conditions, which may include hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, flame-resistant clothing, fall protection, and respiratory protection.
• Post-offer, pre-employment requirements may include job-related and consistent-with-business-necessity physical screening, musculoskeletal assessment, pulmonary function testing, audiogram, vision test, drug screen, and functional capacity evaluation, in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
