Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Start Date: ASAP

Length of Contract: 13 Weeks

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in using the Epic charting system and will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a Level 1 stroke and cardiac center as well as a Level III trauma facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients of all ages.
• Manage and perform various medical procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in floating to various like units as required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Experience managing arterial lines and ventilated patients.

Patient Care Details

The emergency center serves approximately 170 patients daily across all age groups. Our facility is recognized as the largest hospital in the region, providing exceptional emergency care, including trauma services.

Work Schedule

The position requires the following:

• Availability to work weekends (every other weekend required).
• Commitment to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Additional Information

Candidates will need to undergo a background check as part of the hiring process. References covering the past year (six months for nursing assistants) are required prior to starting the assignment.

Applicants must be able to float between various similar units as necessary. Refusal to float may lead to potential termination of the contract.

If an assignment requires communication devices, they will be provided at no cost to the nursing staff.
