About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead the strategic and operational activities of its Bird-Johnson Propeller Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full P&L of the business, driving growth in both the original equipment and aftermarket sectors, and ensuring the company's position as a market leader in propulsion systems. This senior leadership role demands a mission-driven individual with a strong background in manufacturing operations management, including experience in strategic planning, financial management, customer relations, and staff development. The VP of Operations will be tasked with maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices across the organization. Applicants for the Vice President of Operations role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in manufacturing operations management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading large-scale operations, strong financial acumen, and excellent leadership and communication skills. They must be adept at data analysis, and technology utilization, and have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and lean manufacturing principles. The role also demands a leader who can effectively manage a diverse workforce, drive a growth mindset, and ensure the company's operations are in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
