Principal Financial Analyst - R&D Finance Center of Excellence

Medtronic seeks a Principal Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial leadership and analytics for R&D portfolios and programs. The role involves financial planning, forecasting, investment analysis, and decision support to guide resource allocation and portfolio management across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with R&D and Finance leadership on portfolio and investment decision-making
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and long-range planning for assigned R&D organizations
- Develop and maintain financial models supporting program assumptions, timelines, and investment scenarios
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers
- Deliver financial reporting, KPIs, and analytics to improve visibility into R&D performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years finance/accounting experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Ability to develop financial models and scenario analyses supporting business decisions
- Experience partnering with business leaders on investment and resource allocation decisions
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
- MBA, CPA, or relevant professional certification preferred
- Experience in R&D, product development, or life sciences/medical device industries preferred
